The People’s Vision

What National People’s Party of Zimbabwe stands for and the vision of a new democratic dispensation in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is a broken country. In dark times such as this, we look to the government of the day to serve as BUILDERS of a better country for all. We look to the government of the day to bring the change that is desired by all. We know we will not get this from the government of the day. It has broken the social contract that should exist with the Zimbabwean people. The people of Zimbabwe voted for a new democratic constitution in 2013 but it is still to be fully implemented. In line with the new constitution, we need the electoral laws reformed to ensure a free and level playing field. Is the government of the day 5 looking at this? NO. The suffering masses through their political representations, need to make this point loud and clear, so that the next election is not in any way disputed or considered flawed or rigged so as to deny legitimacy to any outcome thereof. . Our great nation is crying out for transformation. My fellow citizens, change and hope lie in the promise of honesty and hard work. Zimbabwe National People’s Party stands for accountability, hard work and transparency to BUILD a better Zimbabwe. Corruption in any form at any level has no room in a Zimbabwe National People’s Party government. This is the commitment of Zimbabwe National People’s Party to you. The commitment to serve Zimbabwe honestly and justly. The commitment to bring about change. Our Blueprint to Unlock Investment and Leverage for Development (BUILD) outlines our policy thrust to change Zimbabwe for good Zimbabwe National People’s Party believes in a Zimbabwe that belongs to all people who call it home, regardless of disability, ethnicity, gender, 6 nationality, political affiliation, race, or religious affiliation. This was an important value of Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle and Zimbabwe National People’s Party is entirely devoted to this particular value. Zimbabwe National People’s Party is therefore an inclusive party. It is a party made of many, a diversity of Zimbabweans brought together by common values inherent in us and the vision for our nation that we carry and the realization that we have to save this great nation from wanton destruction by those who do not see what the people value and want. Zimbabwe National People’s Party is informed by the values of Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle. The legacy of the liberation struggle belongs to all Zimbabweans. We fought for the right to self determination, the right to freedom, the right to vote under the principle of one person one vote and NOT one “man” voting for us ALL. One of Zimbabwe’s greatest sons in the liberation war, General Josiah Magama Tongogara, once said: “We are not fighting against the white man. We are fighting against a system. It is the system, the system, that system which is unjust”. Today that unjust system ZANLA, ZIPRA and the Zimbabwean masses fought against, remains a noose around our necks, as that system has stolen any hope for the people of 7 Zimbabwe.

Your representative will be able to check for you and tell you if you are not a registered voter. National People’s Party will assist all members by walking them through this process. YOUR VOTE IS YOUR VOICE.  REGISTER TO VOTE.

Anyone can be a member of the party regardless of where or which country you are currently living. However to vote in National Elections, the current electoral laws in Zimbabwe requires one be physically present in the country during elections, and that one be also registered to vote with the Zimbabwe electoral commission. NPP together with other political parties in Zimbabwe are pushing for electoral reforms that will among other things level out the playing field by allowing Zimbabwean all over the world to make their vote count and let their voice be heard regardless of where they are.

National People’s Party of Zimbabwe (NPP) is a new Political Party, comprised of many Zimbabweans from all walks of life. The majority of National People’s Party of Zimbabwe members have no previous political involvement of any kind and the Majority of NPP members are people below the age of 45 years of age. This means at independence, they where only 9 years old, and this generation has not known true prosperity, freedom or the promises of the war of liberation. This Generation need to liberate itself. They have had their future robbed, their dreams stolen, and their lives, almost wasted away. The current political coordinators are however people that have had previous political experience elsewhere and where formally members of all existing political parties which including formers Zanu PF members, former MDC members, other parties and NGO organizations. National People’s Party of Zimbabwe is not an Off-shoot of any of the Pre-existing Political Party. We are very different from ZanuPF but closer to opposition parties that oppose Zanu PF misrule like we do.

Ideologically NPP believes that the People are the true Center of Power and the entire party structure with its leadership at the bottom exists for the sole purpose of serving the people that elected them into leadership positions. Everyone in NPP has one vote. We believe in one man, one woman, and one youth ONE VOTE and not one man voting for us all.

All leadership position in the Party are my election ONLY. All elections start at the grassroots at cell level. Leadership starts with the people at the bottom electing their representation all the way to the top. The leadership of the party exists only to serve the people at the grassroots that have entrusted them to leadership. The Party constitution is the supreme law of National People’s Party of Zimbabwe and not the whims of a powerful individual or individuals.
